Photocopiers
There is a great range of photocopiers available for rent in the UK. When considering how much it would cost to rent one in London a business must consider what type of photocopier is required by the business and what type of rental model they are interested in. The first key decision is what size of photocopier is required, whether it is a desktop photocopier, a portable photocopier or a free standing multi function device. Secondly what functions does the business require beyond copying, does it need scanning, faxing, emailing or image editing capability. Thirdly, what type of copying will the business need, colour, black and white, A4 or A3, and how many copies a month. Once you have answered these questions it will help you choose a model that is suitable for your business.
Types of Rental Contract
For photocopiers, there are three types of 'rental' contracts, actual rental, lease rental and lease purchase. Rental is usually the shortest term contract, with the most flexibility, but you will not own the photocopier at the end of the period. Lease rental in which a fixed contract (typically at least a year) is agreed upon, however, the lease company retains ownership of the photocopier even once the lease has expired. There is usually a payment if the company wants to end the contract early. Lastly there is lease purchase, in which the company owns the photocopier at the end of the lease period. Again there is usually a penalty payment if the lease is ended early.
Rental costs in London
The cost of renting a photocopier in London will depend upon the type of photocopier rented and the type of rental contract entered into. Prices for the smallest photocopiers can be under ten pounds a week, whereas if the business needs a large bulk copier with additional functions the cost can be over two hundred pounds a week. One way of cutting the costs in London is to rent a second hand photocopier. In most cases renting a used photocopier will be around half the price of renting a new one.
Maintenance
When looking at rental prices it is important to factor in the cost of the maintenance contract as most business require these. Again the price will vary based on the supplier and the complexity of your photocopier. On average, a maintenance contract could be almost as much as the actual rental of the machine. Some companies will include the maintenance within the quote for rental so it is important to be sure you are comparing similar products when shopping around.
